A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
We are currently seeking a Part-Time Laboratory Technician Intern to be based in our Richmond, VA lab.
A Laboratory Technician Jr is responsible for performing tasks required to support laboratory functions and generate data. The ideal candidate will have basic biology and chemistry knowledge and an eagerness to learn new laboratory skills. They will be trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that helps things move forward.Additional duties will include:
Preparation of samples for analysis
Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
Sample extractions
Determining the volume of samples
Cleaning of laboratory glassware
Maintaining clean laboratory areas, sample receiving, disposal and supporting other business tasks
Maintaining organized records of sample preparation
Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analyses
Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
Comply with Enthalpy's Quality Assurance Program and other policies
Comply with Enthalpy's Health and Safety Plan
Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Currently enrolled in a University program studying Chemistry, Environmental Science or similar degree
Proficient with Google and Microsoft office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
