The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is currently seeking a Sr. Administrative Officer to work in Miami. The Sr. Administrative Officer, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (H) serves as the administrative leader and senior management advisor to the Chair and or other senior leadership within the organization. The Sr. Administrative Officer, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation generates, manages, and interprets strategic information; provides fiscal management and accountability for all department resources, and provides administrative infrastructure to ensure organizational and department goals are achieved and faculty and staff thrive. The incumbent maintains a comprehensive understanding of the similarities and differences among related projects, as well as a broad knowledge of the clinical teaching, educational requirements, human resources policies, procedures and practices, research ethics, pertinent laws impacting each area, fiscal management, and research administration.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides administrative oversight to ensure the smooth, efficient operation of the clinical, academic, and research missions of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Oversees continued development and management of the Department including improving existing operations, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and providing administrative support to all members and activities in the Department.
Leads negotiations and discussions with the Lynn Rehabilitation administration and finance teams as it pertains to the AOA, inpatient and outpatient services, and strategic growth for the department.
Represents the Department and implements directives from the University of Miami Medical Group. Leads, manages, and develops the Sr. Practice Manager, Finance Manager, and administrative team.
Develops operational and financial proposals to support the strategic vision of the department chair. Identifies areas for improvement and implements processes to promote efficiencies across the department.
Manages the revenue cycle in conjunction with the Central Billing Office.
Organizes, plans, supervises, coordinates, and assigns work to clinic staff, administrative staff. Participates in recruitment, interview, selection, disciplining, onboarding/off boarding and evaluation process for staff and other key positions.
Assists in developing and implementing a comprehensive plan to improve patient access to medical practice services and optimizes the patient flow, ensuring exceptional customer service and patient satisfaction. Serves as the administrative liaison to the department's residency and fellowship programs.
Manages all financial deliverables due to UMMG, MSOM, and Jackson Leadership (AOA). Assists Chair in the implementation of the Department's Faculty Compensation Plan following governing guidelines.
Assures that all areas comply with HIPAA, safety and risk management policies and procedures.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field
Experience:
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
