SCHOOL/UNIT DESCRIPTION:
The Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI) is Stanford University's primary interdisciplinary research and teaching institute on international policy and international affairs. The Ford Dorsey Master's in International Policy (MIP) at FSI is a two-year, graduate-level program that grants the Master of Arts degree. The MIP program produces leaders who will engineer policy and spur innovation in government, NGOs, IGOs, and private companies around the world. At the core of the MIP program are Stanford's exceptional faculty and an interdisciplinary approach to research and teaching. The program combines theory and practice, encouraging students to utilize their knowledge in tangible ways, such as through the completion of summer internships and their participation in a capstone project. Students are broadly trained in analytical, policy, and interpersonal skills as well as on the substantive issues facing the world today.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Career Development and Alumni Engagement Manager will report to the MIP Associate Director and will serve as the MIP program lead and primary resource on career and job search advice, professional development resources and tools, and oversee relations and engagement with alumni worldwide. The incumbent plays a key role as a member of the MIP team in determining, assessing, and responding to the expectations and needs of MIP students and alumni.
The Career Development and Alumni Engagement Manager establishes career development policy and procedures and is directly responsible for gathering, maintaining and safeguarding student and alumni career data. The incumbent is accountable for interpreting and implementing university policy and procedures that are relevant to career development and alumni engagement.
The Career Development and Alumni Engagement Manager will advise students on a range of experiential learning components, including student internship and job preparation and placement processes. As such, they will seek internships and job opportunities for MIP students and alumni, which includes managing and scaling alumni and job/internship prospects databases, building relationships with potential employers, and connecting students to MIP alumni and Stanford alumni who work in MIP-related fields.
The Career Development and Alumni Engagement Manager will represent MIP and act as the principal point of contact, including with other campus entities, on MIP career services and alumni matters. They will organize and manage professional development programming and workshops, attend and promote MIP at career fairs, and generate employment and networking opportunities for students and alumni.They will leverage the synergies of working with external organizations, employers, and alumni to guide the strategy and competitiveness of the MIP program.

The expected pay range for this position is $91,874 to $108,373 per annum.
