Job Summary:
The Licensed Athletic Trainer Pool provides comprehensive athletic health care in accordance with an evaluation and treatment protocol that is established by the athletic trainer and approved by the consulting physician. The athletic training services include: injury or illness prevention programs; evaluation, management, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries or illness sustained during physical activity; and giving emergency care or first aid for an injury or illness sustained while participating in physical activity. The Licensed Athletic Trainer Pool participates in other department activities designed to enhance patient/athlete care and programs. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Relevant outreach athletic trainer experience is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Athletic Training program or a related field is required.
State of Wisconsin licensure as an Athletic Trainer is required. Certification as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC) is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
