Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for an Operations Engineer to create and support functional test development for scientific and analytical instrumentation.
A Day in the Life:
Develop, support, and improve technical product documentation from BoM fidelity, CAD, model accuracy, and drawings.
Provide production debug support for new product designs to resolve software and hardware manufacturing, process, and design faults.
Work closely with design engineering to identify areas where product fault coverage and isolation can be improved.
Ensure all processes, fixtures, test programs, and equipment utilized in manufacturing and at suppliers have adequate documentation, including but not limited to test plans, equipment functional specifications, system documentation, and user guides.
Develop test plans and product test specifications.
Design and document functional test processes for new products or components.
Develop test methods/scripts to run Python or other based OS functional testing.
Work with existing processor-based self-test scripts and adapt to support production test needs.
Keys to Success:
Education and Experience
BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering is required.
5+ years of engineering background in hardware development and PLM systems.
Familiarity with scripting languages and ability to make modifications to support test upgrades.
Experience with instrument calibration & application of measurement test limits.
Experience with Mechanical design concepts, GD&T, and production Metrics.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Experience with supplier development

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $100,000.00-$149,950.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
