Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Develop, monitor, and update project budgets, ensuring costs align with estimates.
Prepare and present accurate financial statements and management reports.
Project Accounting
Track project-specific expenses, revenue, and profitability.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost coding and timely invoicing.
Manage and forecast cash flow for ongoing projects.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax and labor laws.
Conduct audits to identify and mitigate financial risks.
Maintain proper documentation for financial transactions and regulatory filings.
Strategic Planning
Partner with executive leadership to create financial strategies that support business objectives.
Analyze financial trends and offer recommendations to optimize profitability and efficiency.
Assist in long-term financial planning and investment decisions.
Team Leadership
Manage and mentor the accounting and finance team.
Establish and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Foster collaboration between departments to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
7+ years of experience in construction accounting or financial management.
Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Procore, Sage 300, or Viewpoint).
Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction-specific accounting standards.
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
