Overview




SUMMARY



ARCTICOM, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Shipping-Receiving Clerk that will be responsible for the satisfactory accomplishment of all assigned tasks in Lexington, KY.

Responsibilities




ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Utilizes a variety of automated systems to include but not limited to the following: Maximo, NGB web to ensure accuracy and timeliness of processing.
  • Work with various programs to include but not limited to: SDR (Supply Discrepancy Report), Army Regulations, and all related issues to include assisting in inventory and perform research to aid in discrepancy resolution.
  • Receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, or tools, and compiles stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.
  • Compares incoming and outgoing shipments to bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records to verify information.
  • Counts and sorts, incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice.
  • Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Stores articles in bins, on the floor or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size, or type of material.
  • Follows applicable procedures to safeguarding, storing, handling, and accounting for items.
  • Interprets MIL-specs for proper packing and perform or direct packing.
  • Performs scheduled or special inventories.
  • Completes or maintains logs, forms, and records.
  • Fills orders or issues supplies from stock.
  • Operates hand or power trucks, forklifts, and various sized vehicles in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Prepares and certifies individual parts and palletized cargo for shipment by military and civilian aircraft.
  • Must be willing and able to work additional hours and various shifts as required.
  • Must be able and willing to perform heavy lifting up to 50lbs. without assistance.
  • Will be qualified in other classifications to support company cross utilization program.
  • Maintain housekeeping in assigned area.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO's)


  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • No previous work experience necessary.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics


  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Must be able and willing to perform heavy lifting up to 50lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment i.e., forklifts, pallet jacks and stock-pickers is recommended.
  • The use of Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook, is highly desirable.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with all co-workers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives.


Preferred


  • Three (3) years' or more of previous warehouse experience.
  • Willing to operate on a no notice recall for 24 hours, 7 days a week operation.
  • Knowledge of HazMat

  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
  • May be required to sit for long periods of time.


DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS


  • This position does not perform DOT "safety-sensitive" functions (as defined under 49 CFR Part 40) and is not subject to any federal requirements related to Department of Transportation requirements for those performing, or on-call to perform, "safety-sensitive" functions.


WORK ENVIRONMENT



Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


May be required to work in restricted spaces and/or under difficult lighting and access conditions. Noise level may be high when operating power equipment. Employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during all seasons.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • No supervisory responsibilities.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS



As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
