Description:


Position Purpose

A supervisor for the engineering department in a hospital oversees the maintenance and repair of all hospital facilities and equipment, managing a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the smooth operation of building systems, compliance with safety regulations, and timely response to any maintenance issues, all while prioritizing patient care and minimizing disruptions to hospital operations; they are responsible for planning, assigning work, monitoring performance, and addressing any technical challenges that arise within the facility's engineering systems

What you will do:


  • Participates in the initial planning and conceptualization of facilities plans.

  • Coordinates hospital's use of professional services (architects', engineers, interior designers, etc.) pertaining to the development or enhancement of the physical facility.

  • Contracts and supervisors' vendors (painters, upholsterers, floor coverers, etc.) to facilitate and complete facilities projects.

  • Manages and coordinates ongoing facilities enhancement/maintenance projects.

  • Performs construction or renovation work.

  • Compiles information and functions as a gatekeeper for facilities regulator codes.

  • Develops and identifies furnishing and equipment needs for hospital expansion; enhancement projects.

  • Directs and organizes activities to be performed by in-house personnel in the process of completing enhancement or maintenance repair projects.

  • Develops and coordinates instantaneous contingency plans for problems that arise during facilities projects.

  • Corporate Compliance

  • Performs other job-related duties within job scope as requested by supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School diploma required.

  • Five (5) years' experience in the trade required.
