ABOUT THE JOB:
Perform mechanical maintenance and preventative maintenance work. Diagnose and repair gas, diesel and heavy equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and general plant equipment or other tasks as assigned. Coordinate with other maintenance personnel and production crews as needed. Work on special projects with other mechanics and the Facilities/Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mechanic I-II:
Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines and heavy equipment
Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes
Interprets diagnostic test results accurately
Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans
Collaborates with other diesel mechanics
Presents reports and plans to clients for approval
Advises clients on repair options and costs
Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly
Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely
Follows all motor vehicle repair shop safety standards and processes
Regular, reliable and predictable attendance is necessary in order to perform the essential functions of this position.
Mechanic III:
Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all ParkUSA-owned fleet and equipment
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all ParkUSA fleet equipment and trucks independently
Diagnose internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems
Perform major repairs to maintain fleet equipment using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments independently
Conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and assorted services
Enter and review work orders and complete part ordering via fleet management system
Recondition and replace assorted parts of the heavy equipment
Diagnoses problem areas for any significant wear or tear on the equipment
Take service calls when shop lead is absent and dispatch Field Service Mechanic to ensure repairs are completed in a timely and efficient fashion
Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner
Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs
Follow all company's filed procedures and protocols
Perform additional duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Mechanic I to II:
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written, and have basic communication skills; interpersonal, written, and verbal, for dealing with all levels and associates, and reading instruction and parts manuals.
Must have a basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, or electronics.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must be able to complete tasks without supervision
Must be able to operate the following tools and equipment:
Hand tools
Mobile and stationary equipment in the plant.

Mechanic III:
Ability to lift 50+ pounds
Ability to drive/operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment
Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and efficiently
Ability to follow up with customers in a timely manner
Understanding the importance of time management
Ability to handle assorted tools properly and safely
Attention to detail
Solid and proven computer skill set to enter work orders
Works and communicates effectively with all levels of the company
Must possess solid written and verbal communication skills and be able to perform basic computer operations such as opening and closing work orders
Works and communicates effectively with all employees of the branch
Regular, reliable and predictable attendance is necessary in order to perform the essential functions of this position.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Mechanic I to II:
High school diploma or equivalent required, additional technical education and/or training is preferred.
1 – 3 years of Production Manufacturing maintenance support is preferred.
Mechanic III:
High school diploma or equivalent required, additional technical education and/or training is preferred.
5 - 7 years of Diesel Mechanic experience
3- 5 years leading a team
