Position Summary


The Department of Psychology at the University of Denver is looking to hire adjunct instructors for the 2024-2025 academic year to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, such as Introduction to Clinical Psychology, Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience, Introduction to Social Psychology, Introduction to Statistics, Adult Psychopathology, Child and Lifespan Development, Child Psychopathology, Clinical Psychology, Motivation and Emotion, Research Design and Inference, Research Methods, and special-topics courses.


Essential Functions

  • Teaching (generally in-person) twice a week
  • Holding office hours
  • Assigning papers and exams as appropriate
  • Being available to assist students with assignments

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Ability to teach at the university level

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Psychology
  • College-level teaching experience

Work Schedule


While the University's administrative offices are open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website (the law school is on a semester system and has a different academic calendar).

Applications will be reviewed until the positions are filled throughout the academic year. Courses are available during the academic year in the fall, winter, and spring quarters.

Course Rate



The current rate of pay is $5,060 per four credit course in academic year 2024-2025.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
