This position is for a Principal level full-stack developer performing a wide range of activities in all phases of analysis, design, development, implementation, and support for critical, complex business applications. This includes performing design and development activities to migrate mission-critical functions from an on-prem environment to the AWS Cloud Platform, using established patterns and standards, and focusing on creating the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to deliver applications to the Cloud Platform and on developing the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) components. This also includes collaborating with business areas to define requirements, supporting QA testing efforts, and providing support for applications in production. This may include coordinating design and development activities to meet project deliverables. This may also include performing build and deployment tasks and continuing to advance DevOps capabilities through additional automation. This individual can expect to work at the highest technical level in all phases of system analysis and development and be responsible for completing complex development assignments. This role requires a thorough understanding of cloud technology and experience with Amazon Web Services and CI/CD pipelines.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and implement technical solutions to meet a wide array of critical business needs using the full stack of web technologies (presentation layer, service layer, database, etc.).
Collaborate with business areas gathering, analyzing, and documenting complex functional requirements.
Contribute to a strong team dynamic by sharing technical expertise and business knowledge with teammates.
Practice concepts that adhere to project management and software development standard methodologies.
Review and improve existing procedures and software/hardware implementations to reduce the risk and recurrence of technical problems.
Innovate and evaluate new technology solutions and functionalities to support future business needs.
Work on migrating applications from an on-premises location to the cloud service providers.
Develop, modify, extend code for building cloud infrastructure, and automate using CI/CD pipelines.
Partners with business and peers in the pursuit of solutions that achieve business goals through an agile software development methodology.
Investigate, debug, and resolve a wide variety of problems that occur with software applications.
Continually improve business acumen for the several businesses supported by the applications.
Review and improve existing processes and procedures to reduce the risk and recurrence of technical issues.
Provide technical direction to teammates and coordinate design and development tasks to meet deliverables.
Support QA testing activities by addressing questions and collaborating on documenting and prioritizing defects.

Knowledge and Experience:
Knowledge and experience acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of information technology experience directly related to architecture, design, and development of software solutions.
Strong technical skill in software engineering for Java EE /Cloud technologies and proficiency in Agile software development principles.
Extensive experience in the following technology - Java, JEE, Angular, Spring, JavaScript, CSS, Bootstrap, RESTful API, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Maven, Jenkins, SVN, GIT, Linux, AIX.
Proficiency in the development and deployment of highly distributed, fault-tolerant, and resilient Java applications.
Experience designing and building web environments on AWS, which includes working with services like EC2, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway and S3.
Hands on experience with cloud services including planning, development, migration, and integration of applications and Cloud services.
Proficiency in implementing cloud-native services in AWS cloud environments is strongly preferred.
Experience with Docker and containerization.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) is preferred.
Experience with the implementation of CI/CD pipelines using DevOps and automated testing.
Experience using continuous integration and security scanning tools (Gitlab, Jenkins, Maven, Fortify, Sonar, etc.).
Experience designing applications focusing on usability, security, and performance.
Strong database skills including the ability to design the data models.
Passion for technology and willingness to continuously embrace learning to meet the ever-changing technical landscape and business needs.
Strong communication skills to communicate complex business and technical concepts with technical and non-technical team members.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze details while concurrently adopting a big picture view.
Certification in at least one applicable technology is desirable.
