Responsibilities
Summary of position:
Special Materials (SMs) are requested variations of MSA’s standard product offerings, and the “Special Materials Analyst” position provides the technical assessment and documentation creation needs for SMs for our protection product portfolio. The person in this position will review SM order requests from customer service, marketing, manufacturing, and engineering to ensure that the requested product can be created from a technical perspective. A strong understanding of product structure and its implications on the manufacturing processes for the protection product portfolio is needed. Possessing or gaining knowledge in the application SAP and CRM functions affecting order review and product structure, along with knowledge of the processes followed by customer service and operations is needed. A Special Materials Analyst would possess those skills and would proactively assist with improvements in workflow and product structures with those involved to improve the customer experience with Special Materials.

Qualifications
What we require:
Excellent written and oral communication skills that can influence decisions and actions with stakeholders
Critical thinking with the ability to connect the dots across customer service, engineering, and operations
Experience interpreting and creating technical documentation
Minimum Associate degree in a technical discipline
Level I – 1 to 5 years of experience with protection products and their documentation structures
Level II - 5 or more years of experience with protection products and their documentation structures
What we prefer:
Knowledge of MSA’s protection product portfolio, drawing structures and documentation standards
Experience with SAP functions associated order processing
Experience with the Special Materials process
History of leading global program initiatives or process improvements
Proven record of sharing responsibilities with others
Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence and Salesforce
SharePoint design know-how
