JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an Appraiser to join our Farm Credit family! This position performs and reviews appraisals completed by non-staff appraisers for AgSouth Farm Credit in accordance with ACA and District policies, procedures, and standards, as well as the laws of the respective state appraisal boards. This position also provides appraisal related training and guidance to staff as needed or deemed by the Chief Appraiser.
Responsibilities
Appraisal Review/Valuations: Complete appraisal valuations in compliance with the Farm Credit Act, FCA regulations Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and other applicable guidelines. Communicate the status of appraisals to Association staff. Meets valuation turn-time expectations and other reporting requirements for effective job performance. Train and mentor staff as needed.
Sales Analysis and Compilation: Responsible for obtaining, analyzing, and maintaining a sales database, indexed appropriately, and that is representative of the types of real estate taken as collateral by the Association.
Other Duties as Assigned/Personal Employee Development: Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, which may include specific projects. Participate in continuous learning activities to sustain knowledge of the industry, management practices, and Association policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements:
• Successfully obtain and maintain a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser's license(s) in assigned state(s) or Successfully obtain and maintain Trainee / Apprentice Appraisal Licenses in applicable states
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Forestry, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in real estate appraisals with an emphasis on appraising agricultural producing properties and/or Agricultural Chattel
• Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Travel via auto to carry out essential responsibilities of the job.
• Focus on problem solving skills with solutions-driven results.
• Current awareness of economic developments and production technology affecting agriculture in the region
• Ability to be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions which serve the best interest of the borrower and the Association.
