Job Description:

HunaTek Government Solutions is seeking a 508 Compliance Specialist to perform daily at a customer site in Washington, DC. This position is pending contract award. At least 3 years of experience in managing a Section 508 program, and remediation using appropriate tools is required. Essential Job Functions:
  • Establish agency policies, processes, guidance, and best practices to enable Section 508 compliance.
  • Has knowledge of WCAG 2.0/Section 508 accessibility standards and best practices, and experience with remediation.
  • Experience validating front-end features of 508 compliance against Web Accessibility standards, including test development, administration, outcome evaluation.
  • Maintain broad awareness of compliance requirements, processes and objectives through executive briefings, training programs and internal communication tool.
  • Develop templates to support compliance, reporting and learning.
  • Maintain close awareness of Section 508 and WCAG guidance and direction coming from GSA, Usability.gov and other federal organizations.
  • Provides compliance guidance to support technology planning, design, development, testing and implementation activities.
  • Ensure accessibility needs are clearly defined in development/systems requirements and contracting documents.
  • Working knowledge of Inspection/Testing tools. Able to independently demonstrate testing acumen. Does not require assistance or support with testing.
  • Ability to translate non-conformance to Test Standards into a Risk statement based on the impacted user population.
  • Write test report documentation that is clear and easy to consume by both technical and non-technical audience.
  • Experience with Section 508 Compliance test scripts and reporting of test results.
  • Experience with Section 508 Compliance testing of Web software applications.
  • Must have the ability to independently troubleshoot Section 508 Compliance software issues including testing and troubleshooting software/hardware accessibility issues.
  • Understanding of the formal software development process and quality assurance standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work with developers, content creators and procurement professionals to ensure Section 508 policies are addressed.
  • Provide Section 508 conformance requirements support when agency use applications are developed.
  • Work with developers in defining the Section 508 requirements.
  • Test software, software applications using Section 508 conformance testing tools.
  • Familiar with automated, manual, hybrid testing tools.
  • Determine the software meets the 508 requirements by either asking the vendor, testing the tool, or both.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
  • 3+ years of 508 compliance experience
  • Strong communication (verbal and written, ability to
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite Verbal and written reporting education/experience.
  • Ability to obtain an MRPT.
