The role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. This role will operate/change over specified machinery in the assigned area. Shipping Operators must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement. Shipping Operators must have the skill set to train and/or perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed. This job requires strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support site objectives.
Day Shift: 223 Days 6am - 6:30pm
( 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on; then 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off)
What are we looking for?
Be 18 years of age or older
Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules
Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language
Forklift certified
Must have valid drivers license
Knowledge of inventory computer systems WMS
Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
What will be your key responsibilities?
Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner at all times
Perform periodic and routine inventories of raw materials in storage
Provide and perform routine maintenance checks on equipment
Assist in other production, sanitation, maintenance, and quality activity in other areas as directed
Perform housekeeping and sanitation procedures
Provide functional communication with other staff members as necessary to optimize quality, efficiency, productivity and safety
Loading trucks, live loads and staged loads
Ability to operate Fork lift - (Expert Level)
Direct ship responsibility including proper disposition of hold product, food safety hold product and released product
WMS, BOL responsibility / accountability
Support Warehouse Area Lead with all activities associated with shipping department
Standing on a concrete floor
Sitting, getting up and down off of a forklift often
Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)
Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55lbs
Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicals
Vision correctable to 20/20
