Job Description

Summary Description: The primary role of Design Technology Specialist I is to aid in the development and maintenance of company standards, project templates and library content. This role will require troubleshooting and support to company technology users. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of Revit and be a team player with good communication skills.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain personal continuing education of the firm's design technology, as listed below, to be a subject matter expert and resource for the firm.
  • Assist in the development and execution of best practices, firmwide standards and expectations for design excellence.
  • Under direction of Design Technology Specialist develop training documentation
  • Troubleshoot general Revit project-related issues with limited assistance.
  • Assists Design Technology Specialist with the day-to-day management of BIM content and applications.
  • Conduct training in both classroom, small group, and 1 on 1 environments as needed.
  • Assists project teams with model setup as needed.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to end users.
  • Assist with technology planning and implementation of technology projects.

Job Requiremetns

Education/Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in the AEC industry is required, preferably in a BIM or VDC administrative role.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and willingness to use insured personal vehicle in the course of employment.

Qualifications/Skills: Candidate must be eager to learn and have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, exceptional initiative, the ability to work effectively in a professional atmosphere, and strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Revit
  • Proficiency in BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Familiar with the design process and construction documents.
  • Experience with Clarity, Dynamo, Grasshopper, Navisworks, Power BI, Smartsheet, and Enscape. Lumion is a plus.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication and mentorship/leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to take action confidently and decisively.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, personally driven to consistently meet project deadlines and performance goals.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with various disciplines and types of people. Committed to being an effective, contributing team player.
