Position Summary:

A postdoctoral research associate position is available to conduct research related to the repair of injured musculoskeletal tissue in Dr. Ming-Feng Hsueh's lab (
https://www.med.unc.edu/cellbiophysio/directory/ming-feng-hsueh-phd/
). The position will involve wet lab research of collecting and processing the human specimens, isolating the single cells and conducting downstream experiments. Technique such as in vitro culture, nucleic acid and protein related techniques, and flow analyzer/sorter skills are required. Additional responsibilities include science writing and meeting presentations, and mentoring of junior level researchers.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

A PhD degree in the appropriate biomedical science, pharmacology, cell biology and physiology or related field or discipline. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.


Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Experience in in vitro culture. Ability to maintain professional ethics. Candidate must have excellent organizational skills and possess good problem-solving skills. Must be able to work independently. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, which are required for interacting with colleagues.


Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Experience working in research environment. Experience in animal study. Familiarity and interest in RNASeq and proteomic technique in an academic setting. Experience in R. Able to communicate effectively with people. Able to assist PI with grant proposal preparation.
