In alignment with this company wide commitment, DEC (Design, Engineering, and Construction) is among the first business units within Meta to have set an internal carbon reduction target. We have identified near, mid, and long-term initiatives to achieve NetZero goals as part of the decarbonization strategy for Meta Data Centers.This person will help operationalize these strategies, which include material replacements, planning manufacturing processes, and document progress as we mainstream them into data center design and construction practices. We are looking for a candidate with subject matter expertise in building sector decarbonization, developing road maps to meet key objectives, and navigate the change management process.
Building Systems Engineer Responsibilities:
Leverage and enhance tools and processes to improve delivery and communication for Net Zero program
Work with key project team members to ensure alignment among all internal stakeholders and to find creative ways to overcome obstacles to achieve Net Zero program goals
Manage cross-functional programs that cover a range of internal teams by co-developing clear roadmaps, project requirements, milestone schedules, and documentation to support decision-making and facilitate implementation of greenhouse gas reduction and carbon removal projects
Provide hands-on program management with internal teams from project conception to implementation phases
Manage dependencies and handoffs effectively and optimize schedules accordingly
Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions
Identify areas of risk, quantify those risks, and develop mitigations with subject matter experts within the organization
Report and drive alignment and decisions from leadership across multiple organizations
Effectively communicate complex technical content to stakeholders and partners with diverse/varied technical backgrounds
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with highly technical building types and the component parts that decarbonization efforts will affect.
10+ years of relevant experience in Program Management, Architecture, sustainability or Engineering
3+ years experience related to decarbonization and/or Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs)
Experience with carbon reduction and removal strategies
Experience evaluating, defining and improving end-to-end processes
Experience in managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal staff and external consultants, vendors and other stakeholders
Experience delivering complex projects aligned with large scale corporate goals through influence and collaboration
Experience influencing stakeholders and partner teams. Experience collaborating with different individuals across the organization and within other geographies
Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational experience
Experience across technical and non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
LEED AP
Proficiency in Revit and Autocad
PMP Certification
Experience with Data Center/hyper scale, design and construction
