Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the assembly of a wide variety of assemblies and subassemblies to produce a quality product for our customer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Observe all safety rules and regulations including wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment. Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition.
  • Operates equipment in a safe manner.
  • Participate as a member of work teams. Assist in measuring team performance for safety, quality, delivery and cost. Work with team members, other business functions, customers and suppliers to continually improve these measures.
  • Participates in Level 3 activities such as scrap and rework elimination projects along with various other kaizen events.
  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
  • Perform microscope inspection on assembled parts
  • Maintain inventory of product in work stations
  • Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures. Detect and report faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations and/or unusual conditions to supervisor/lead person/engineer.
  • Attends required training programs.

  • Assist in the training of other associates in procedures and use of equipment.
  • Performs 5 S activities.

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and write in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, operating instructions, engineering drawings, in process inspection plans and procedure manuals. Ability to complete required reports. Good communication skills to interact with coworkers. Ability to participate in team meetings.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers. Ability to use a computer and to accurately enter data into production applications. Ability to read production sheets, graphs, and understand their practical application. Must be able to set up gages that are used for measuring parts and adjusting machines.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply basic reasoning skills to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions. Ability to detect and identify typical defects found in materials. Ability to troubleshoot problems involving concrete variables in standard situations. Ability to read and use various inspection equipment and precision tools, and understand and apply basic inspection and sound measurement practices. Basic knowledge of Level 3 principles.

The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or lower, carry, push and/or pull, step, rotate head/neck or maintain a static head/neck positions, crouch/squat, sit, bend, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus and color vision to differentiate colors reading gages. Use of vision correction is acceptable, if necessary; however, any vision correction apparatus must meet all safety guidelines for the area of activity.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Exposure to elements such as noise, dust, and odors. The job is performed in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


  • HS Graduate of Equivalent i.e. GED

  • At least 6 months work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to remain productive under indirect supervision and follow verbal and written instructions and techniques
  • Basic mathematical aptitude required
CERTIFICATION/TRAINING REQUIRED

  • Up to 6 weeks of on the job training to become familiar and confident with essential duties
  • GMP Training
  • General Orientation
  • Annual Safety training programs (Hearing Conservation, etc.)
  • Quality System Awareness Training

Compensation

Salary Minimum: $30,000

Salary Maximum: $40,000
