POSITION SUMMARYA Multicraft Journeyman (welder/fitter/mechanic) is a highly skilled tradesperson proficient in multiple disciplines within the skilled trades. This role involves a diverse set of skills and expertise, enabling the specialist to perform various tasks across different crafts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Safety, professional & customer satisfaction focused.· Read and understand, drawings, blueprints, and P&ID’s.· Position, align and secure parts & assemblies according to specifications by using tape measures, straightedges, combination squares, levels, and other various measuring tools.· Perform welding using the GMAW, SMAW and GTAW welding processes.· Familiar and proficient in butt & socket weld for carbon steel & stainless-steel pipe/tube, experience in threaded carbon steel & stainless-steel pipe, experience with PVC/CPVC, copper solder.· Familiar and proficient in Pro & Mega Press Mechanical Piping · Operate hand and power tools such as magnetic drills, grinders, cutting torches and automated welding tractors, etc.· Inspect equipment prior to use to maintain quality & functionality; report any equipment malfunctions.· Work with others to assist with execution of work in a professional manner.· Inspect own work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.· Must have the ability to travel to multiple locations in the field including multiple states (Delaware, New Jersey, PA, and Maryland)· Must be willing to work overtime and alternative shifts and be available on an emergency basis EDUCATION:· Required: High School Degree (or equivalent) and related Trade School QUALIFICATIONS:· 5+ year experience in fabrication/welding industry· Have experience in the GMAW, SMAW and GTAW, and ultimately to qualify to D1.1 structural command and to weld pipe in 6-G position per AWS using the GTAW process in carbon and stainless steel. Proven past welding certification history is a plus.· Proficient in welding symbols, decipher work packages diagrams, blueprints, and or other printed instructional material.· Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.· Can cut material by means of cutting torch, plasma torch, Port-a-band saw and other related tools.· Able to work in a team environment and self-motivated.· OSHA /10 safety training required provided by Rhoads, having an up-to-date OSHA/10 or greater is a plus. REQUIRED:•· Valid driver’s license and own transportation required for travel from job to job in the tri-state area and Maryland.· Must be able to pass a background check, motor vehicle check, drug screening and respirator fitness testHOURS: Multiple Shift Options available and any additional time requirements as may be needed by customer or type of work. Weekend shifts may be required on as needed basis with notice.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:· The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required.· Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving in an automobile/truck/forklift.· May require walking and standing on irregular, uneven surfaces in an industrial setting and possibly at increased heights climbing and descending ladders and stairways.· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
