SUMMARY
The AEMT is responsible to transport sick and injured patients, both in a 911 and interfacility setting. Provide high quality patient care, assist with quality programs.
STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: Potsdam, NY
DEPARTMENT: Emergency Medical Services
SCHEDULE: Variable
ATTRIBUTES
- AHA BLS for Healthcare provider required
- Valid NYS AEMT required
- Valid NYS Driver's License required
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
- In good standing with NCEMS as an AEMT required
- Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or equivalent preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate SLH EMS vehicles safely
- Assist with packaging and transport of patients
- Operate stretchers, wheelchairs, and other patient transportation devices
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections
- Assist with readiness of EMS operations
- Provide patient care to the NYS protocols
- Assist Advanced providers with treatment
- Initiate and maintain IV's
- Administer medication within protocol
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $19.78 - $24.47
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
