Bastion is seeking a Systems Engineer (32 hours weekly) to support NASA on the Fully Integrated Lifecycle Mission Support Services 2 (FILMSS 2) contract to assist the Project Manager and Project Management Office (PMO) of the Air Traffic Management and Exploration (ATM-x) Project in the day-to-day logistics of managing the project. The primary duties will be to schedule and manage project meetings.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meeting scheduling: includes setting up the meeting which may include coordinating video conferencing technology and/or a call-in number, tracking acceptance of the meeting and rescheduling the meeting as necessary to enable a quorum to attend.
  • Meeting management: includes recording and disseminating project meeting notes and action items and tracking their resolution in collaboration with project leadership. Dissemination can include emailing meeting minutes and associated documents to participants and/or posting to knowledge sharing sites.
  • The Contractor shall support the development of project plans, reports, and project milestone documentation, editing of technical documentation and papers.
  • Assist with and coordinate public outreach, education, and publicity for Aeronautics and activities.
  • Logistics support for conferences and meetings, various workshops, and strategic planning sessions.
  • General administrative support including handling of supplies and logistics needs, procurement support, travel support, logistics associated with Agency End-User Services (EUSO) computer equipment and NASA property, and other administrative tasks.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and procedural requests.
  • Assist in communication with and the coordination of affiliates.
  • Attend software and other Ames financial/infrastructure training as required to perform the task.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
  • This position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Must have 5+ years of recent and related work experience.
  • Must have project administration skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • High level of autonomy, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable with and adaptable to changing environments.
  • Familiarity with online meeting software, such as WebEx, Adobe Connect or Zoom.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with or without a team, depending on the specific scenario.
  • Ability to respond quickly and prioritize tasks in fast-paced environments to meet deadlines.
  • Anticipate tasks that need to be completed, self-starter, proactive initiative.
  • This position is 32 hours per week and may be increased to 40 hours per week in the future.
  • Willing to learn new skills and technologies, fast learner, tech savvy.

DESIRED:

  • Familiar with web editing in Adobe Dreamweaver, HTML, and /or Drupal.
  • Proficient in online meeting software (such as Adobe Connect, Zoom, WebEX and/or Mezzanine) and hardware (A/V equipment such as projectors, cameras, videoconference systems, etc.).
  • Graphic editing skills using Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
  • Event coordination experience.
  • Interest and experience in human interaction and engagement strategies.
  • Experience working with NASA and NASA-specific software programs.
  • Education and public outreach experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with online collaboration and meeting tools.

WORK LOCATION:

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
  • You will be required to travel to the closest NASA facility upon hire to obtain needed work related items.
  • This position may require some travel.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check, some positions require a clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process.


DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:

All Bastion employees must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; some contracts require participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening programs.

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • All of Bastion's employees must be team players.
  • Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.
  • Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.
  • Must be organized with good time management skills.
  • Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
  • Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
