The Lead IT Architect is responsible for the overall architecture, design, development and any proof of concepts related to ERP systems (JD Edwards) and Cloud native apps for McKesson Medical Surgical. Must be able to collaborate with varying levels of technical understanding and be a thought leader and change agent who is able to adapt in a very fast paced, ever-changing environment. The incumbent will join our talented team of MT MMS Order To Cash JDEdwards ERP team in helping to drive software innovation and improve customer's satisfaction. This dynamic role will allow the individual to tap into their technical architecture, analytical and leadership skills, interact with internal stakeholders and to think outside the box in developing creative solutions.
Position Description
Responsible for the overall technical architecture, design, development and proof of concepts for our ERP System (JDEdwards) and Cloud native apps for McKesson Medical Surgical business processes
Responsible for providing oversight, developing roadmaps, design standards, development, code reviews and mentoring of technical teams supporting MT MMS Order To Cash JD Edwards ERP
Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts in the solution architecture field
Evaluate business requirements and provide solutions, products, or services
Conducts a system architecture evaluation and collaborates with portfolio management and IT development teams to improve the architecture
Evaluates project constraints to find alternatives, alleviate risks, and perform process re-engineering if required
Accountable for software delivery including continuous improvement, practices, and principles
Work with application functional architects to understand functional and non-functional (technical) requirements and translate into code design
Ability to establish operational guidelines, design architectural frameworks, and develop implementation strategies agnostic of technical platform
Support new software releases and features enhancements during the product lifecycle.
Document major processes and development milestones.
Troubleshoot and resolve imminent software deficiencies.
Stay up to date with technology trends and industry best practices.
Research and evaluate new software technologies to benefit MT MMS Order To Cash JD Edwards ERP
Build collaborative relationships with the Enterprise Technology teams, MMS Business stakeholders and other peers.
Develop & support enterprise architecture strategies for ERP, guiding principles, processes, policies, and standards
Minimum requirements:
Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience
Critical skills:
Hands on experience with JD Edwards and technical development tools
Development experience with JD Edwards sales order processing, advanced warehousing, Master Data Management and Inventory Management
Experience 10+ years in software development/architecture
Strong knowledge of JD Edwards C code, Business Services and SQL
Experience in enterprise application and information architecture methodologies and design
Advanced understanding and experience working with various development tools, design standards, best practices, and architecture frameworks
Knowledge of Agile methodology
Experience in all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and source management

Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is a plus.
Experience with architectural abstractions and design patterns
Experience with Cloud Native app development, Micro-Services methodology, and Spring
4-year degree in computer science, engineering, or another STEM field or equivalent experience
