Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job



The main purpose of this job is to sell investment and trust services within the territory assigned and to reach stated annual new business fee goal.



Essential Functions



  • Develop and maintain active network of referral sources with active prospect pipeline to ensure that annual sales goal is met


  • Achieve annual sales goal for current fee business


  • Accurately complete necessary paperwork for new account onboarding, participate in regular sales meetings as directed by management, and complete sales incentive process/paperwork


  • Perform other duties as assigned





Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required



  • Strong understanding of the investment, trust and estate planning fields


  • Strong understanding of trust services including administration, tax and investments


  • Strong relationship building skills


  • Excellent problem-solving skills


  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and meet Commerce Bank's driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements


  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities


  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills


  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values


  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook





Education & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree preferred.


  • 7+ years related sales experience required


  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation required


  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred

This compensation range is for the Business Development Representative/Wealth Management Consultant & Senior Consultant - CTC job and contemplates a wide range of factors that are considered in determining most appropriate job level and making compensation decisions, including but not limited to location, skill sets, education, relevant experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $65,000 to $95,000 annually. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
