Job Summary/Basic Function:
Responsible for the daily operation of the MEP Trades Shops, including oversight of all shop work orders and WO Assignments through the shop leads and the CMMS systems.
Oversee the preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance of the campus buildings MEP systems and components.
Responsible for managing vendors and contractors performing MEP related work on campus.
Responsible for ensuring the 24/7 uptime reliability of buildings, systems, and components.
Serves as a contributing member of the Facilities Operations leadership team which ensures efficient and effective operation and management of Wheaton’s Facilities MEP trades functions and staff by recommending and implementing operational best practices, policies, and procedures aligned with industry standards through data-driven decisions that support the department’s overall strategic priorities.
Coordinates objectives and takes direction from the Chief Engineer.
Minimum Qualifications:
The Individual must possess an engineering degree and 4 years of management experience in a technical trades environment, OR a Journeyman License in Electrical or Plumbing Trades, or an MA Refrigeration License and 6 years working in a trades shop.
A USCG Engineer License will count toward years of experience.
Facilities Operations experience in higher education or a commercial real estate environment would be desirable.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in one of the engineering trades disciplines.

When determining and establishing hiring rates or recruitment ranges for a position, the College considers a number of factors including the budget for the position, the range of the grade, the external market for the position or similar positions, level and scope of responsibilities, required education, skills and relevant experience as well as internal equity. All salary offers must have the prior approval of the Office of Human Resources.
The anticipated hiring or recruitment range for this position is $85,000 – $95,000.
