Position: Senior Data Scientist
Job Location: 10500 NE 8th Street, Bellevue, WA 98004
Duties: Responsible for creating a long-term strategy and transformative path for Walmart's rapidly growing omnichannel business. Execute entire analytical projects from start to finish, including cross-functional project management, data collection / data manipulation, analysis and modeling, and communication of insights and recommendations. Build scalable and complex supply chain models and processes to optimize supply chain strategies to deliver an excellent customer experience while balancing operating cost and asset efficiency. Develop business cases for projects with detailed analysis supporting return on investment or cost savings opportunities. Demonstrate originality and creativity when developing solutions to improve existing business processes within supply chain, utilizing methods such as statistical analysis, regression modeling, and optimization. Identify areas of opportunity and influence execution of results via cross-functional participation to enable quick wins and continuous improvement. Create and deploy robust metrics and dashboards to enable tangible supply chain transformation. Create models to analyze the supply chain network needed to support future sales growth with capabilities to understand the sensitivity of multiple variables such as opening, closing, or repurposing distribution centers; changes in truck / fuel prices; manufacturing / supplier lead time variability; and storage cost. Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate multiple network designs and impact to customer experience and cost to serve. Develop inventory planning and distribution strategy to optimize cost to serve and improve in-stock rates with a tiered storage network and dynamic real-time distribution network. Develop optimization logic and new science-based tools to determine truckload lane strategy for outbound transportation, balancing cost, and SLA requirements.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 1 year of experience in an analytics related field; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 3 years of experience in an analytics related field.
Skills required: Experience with SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets and supporting supply chain insights. Experience creating Tableau dashboards for data-driven decision making in supply chain strategies. Experience leveraging Excel for efficient data analysis, modelling, and scenario analysis in supply chain. Experience with VBA automation for tasks and enhancing data processing in supply chain workflows. Experience with statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and data visualization using R. Experience with supply chain network design, optimization, and simulation. Experience with financial modeling to analyze return on investment (ROI) and Net Present Value (NPV) in supply chain strategies. Experience with inventory modeling and inventory placement to reduce working capital and improve in-stock. Experience with pilot implementation and statistical analysis to assess performance of supply chain initiatives. Experience with Minitab for statistical analysis. Experience with principles of lean manufacturing to identify inefficiencies in supply chain processes and eliminate waste. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $118,414/year to $216,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
