CITY OF CONNELLSVILLE NOTICE CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION POLICE OFFICER The City of Connellsville is accepting applications for the position of Full Time Police Officer. A competitive Civil Service examination will be given for the purpose of filling a vacant Police Position and establishing an eligibility list from which all hiring for the position of Connellsville Police Officer is made. The eligibility list will be valid for a period of up to two (2) years.
All applications will be picked up and turned in at Connellsville City Hall in person from now until January 31, 2025, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The date and time of the written and physical examinations will be mailed to all applicants. No applications will be accepted after the deadline which is January 31, 2025 at 4:00 PM. No applications will be accepted by mail. A non-refundable $50.00 applicant fee is required at the time the application is submitted. Fee accepted by check or money order, (NO CASH), made payable to "City of Connellsville."
Applicants must meet the following qualifications and submit requested below items with completed application: * Must be a Citizen of the United States of America as of application due date, evidenced by Birth Certificate, U.S. Passport, or Naturaliztion Papers. * Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a Police Officer. * Proof of PA Act 120 Certification at or before date of hire. * Copy of a valid vehicle driver's license. * Minimum age of twenty-one (21) at deadline of application acceptance, 01/31/2025. * Copy of High School diploma or graduate equivalency diploma (GED). * Copy of College diploma or transcript, if applicable. * Copy of Military Form "DD-214" if claiming Veteran's preference.
Wages, example: Patrolman start at 80% salary, $54,687.63 for 2025, 90% of Patrolman base for 2026, $63,369.28 after completion of one year, & third year 100 % Patrolman salary for 2027, $72,522.62. (After each full work year completed).
If employed with the City, permanent domicile within 18 air miles of City Hall/Connellsville Police Department must be within one (1) year, before the completion of probationary period.
The application process will permit applicants to submit proof of PA Act 120 Certification on or before the anticipated date of hire. Proof of PA Act 120 Certification will not be required as part of the submitted application.
