The Human Resources Specialist will assist the HR Manager in the administration of HR processes, procedures, and systems.
Job Responsibilities
Complete job bids upon request, compile applicants, research internal employee history.
Schedule interviews (internal and external).
Schedule pre-employment drug testing for all potential candidates.
Manage the monthly random drug testing program
Prepare new hire paperwork, Open Text files.
Scan employee records to Open Text.
Assist HR Manager with the upkeep of HRIS system data.
Assist with the administration of Leave of Absence.
Including monitoring third-party processes, return to work dates, time card updates, and serving as the first point of contact.
Responsible for benefit updates including communicating employer response and follow-up, system audits, and any other steps necessary to ensure data accuracy.
Facilitate new hire orientations.
Assist with coordination of annual events at the plant level: summer picnic, benefits open enrollment and holiday gift giving.
Assist with planning biometrics and other health screenings and flu shots annually.
Sign off on weekly timecards through the timekeeping system.
Rectify any payroll & Kronos issues.
Collaborate with Supervisors to ensure timely submittal & accuracy of weekly payroll.
Assist with special projects.
Assign door badges.
Reset passwords.
Ability to review/update/have access to the compensation of employees in the organization. The expectation is that all employees in HR will not disclose any confidential information.

Required Education and Experience
Basic computer skills.
General understanding of manufacturing processes.
Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
General knowledge of a specialized field; equivalent to 2 years of college, business or technical school or applicable experience.
Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Education and Experience
Skilled in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good time management skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and establish relationships.
Strong ability to learn and utilize different systems and programs.
Well-developed interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
• Work is performed in an office setting.
• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35°F to 100°F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
