Position Summary:

The position provides assistance to the assigned investigators (PIs) and their laboratory or project personnel. Duties performed are general administrative duties, including scheduling, preparation of grants, correspondence and letters, requisitions, travel forms, etc. This position will also provide program coordination for one or more of the cancer center's research programs. Duties include organizing program meetings, dissemination/communication of program activities, organizing interactions with program consultants and advisors, program events, guest speakers, and research proposals.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.


Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Proficiency in Outlook managing calendars.


Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to compose coherent and grammatically correct emails and correspondence.
Familiarity with the UNC tenure process for the purposes of preparing tenure applications and documentation for faculty is preferred.
Experience with travel arrangements, including the UNC travel system, is preferred.
