JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for face-to-face and phone interactions with patients and family members regarding meal selection choices either through Room Service or traditional menu selection process. Serves meals to patients in a professional, efficient manner. Acts as a liaison between Nutrition Production staff, Clinical Dietitian, and Nursing staff on a daily basis regarding any patient diet order, meal selections or delivery concerns.
Processes diet order requisitions using systems established for menu processing. Verifies that meal orders meet diet order parameters. Ensures electronic records are accurate and up-to-date.
Participates in meal assembly process as instructed by Shift Supervisor.
Completes data entry and reports processing as directed.
Inventories and stocks pantries with supplies on a daily basis.
Performs special project assignments and other duties as assigned or needed.
Performs other duties as assigned by department supervisors.
Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and hospital policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Must be able to read and write. Requires High School diploma or GED. Previous food service experience preferred. ServSafe Certification preferred. Previous office and computer skills preferred. “On the job” training provided.
