The Role: Corrugator Converting Supervisor
Responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the corrugator converting equipment in a manufacturing facility. Your primary goal is adherence to safety standards, ensure quality output, and efficient production processes are followed. You will lead a team of operators and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize performance and achieve production targets.

What You'll be Responsible For in this Role
In this role your Primary Duties and/or Responsibilities include the following
Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all co-workers.
Conduct safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
Investigate accidents or incidents and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
Contact management immediately if an accident or incident occurs.
Quality Control:
Follow quality control procedures to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.
Conduct regular inspections of finished goods to identify any defects or inconsistencies in the production process.
Take corrective action as necessary to address quality issues and prevent reoccurrence.
Team Leadership:
Lead and motivate a team of operators and technicians, fostering a positive work environment.
Provide training and guidance to new employees, ensuring they understand operating procedures and safety protocols.
All training must be documented and signed by trainer and co-worker.
Delegate tasks effectively to maximize productivity and meet production schedules.
Operational Oversight:
Supervise the operation of corrugator converting equipment, including slitters, die-cutters, folder/gluers, gluers, and stitchers.
Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
Ensure equipment is properly set-up, maintained, and calibrated for optimal efficiency and output quality.
This process will include an acknowledgement sheet to be signed before production begins.
Production Planning:
Collaborate with production manager and planner to develop production schedules and prioritize workflow.
Coordinate with other departments, such as shipping and customer service, to ensure timely delivery of finished products.
Optimize production processes to minimize downtime and reduce waste.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, production volumes, and downtime.
Generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as production efficiency, yield rates, and quality metrics.
Communicate production status updates to management and stakeholder as needed.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
Collaborate with Operational Excellence and maintenance teams to implement upgrades or modifications to equipment.
Encourage feedback from team members and participate in the sustainability of all Kaizen events to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification preferred.
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with specific experience in corrugated cardboard production preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality excellence.
