Looking to hire a Construction Project Manager for General Contractor in Northern Virginia for their Mission Critical team. The core markets they operate in from their Vienna, VA office are Corporate Interiors and Mission Critical (Data Center work) and oversee projects in Northern Virginia and DC. Exciting opportunity to join a top tier General Contractor and this job is open to experienced APMs ready to make a step up into a Project Manager role. Core Responsibilities:
Help in the preconstruction and estimating efforts on the projects.
Part of an on-site team responsible for the overall budgeting / bidding activities on projects.
Provide initial schedule for estimating and bidding purpose. Assist superintendent with detailed construction scheduling as necessary.
Negotiate, award, write and enforce contracts.
Review with superintendent project costs to ensure project is kept within budget.
Ensure compliance with bond and insurance requirements.
Build and maintain local market subcontractor relationships.
Work with superintendent on job site logistics and schedule.
Coordinate office support as required for project needs.
Coordinate all close-out activities on a timely basis.
Perform additional assignments per client or management direction.
Potential supervisory responsibilities of an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer.
To be successful in this role:
5+ years of construction project management experience. Ideal candidates will have 2-3 years of Mission Critical / Data Center experience, however client would consider anyone with ground-up base build commercial experience.
Operating in a Construction Project Manager position for a commercial general contractor.
Construction related degree preferred, ideally in Construction Management. Relevant experience would also be considered.
Strong estimating and budgeting ability.
