Job Summary:
Caterpillar's Energy & Transportation Purchasing division has an exciting opportunity for a Category Buyer - Electrification (Senior Buyer for Charging Products) in Mossville, IL.
If you would like to play a significant role in Caterpillar's efforts to help our customers win in the energy transition, then this is the team. Identifying and managing a global, resilient, and diverse supply base is paramount to success in electrification for Caterpillar Inc. This is a Senior Category Buyer Role in the "Global Charging Systems Category Team" for all Caterpillar applications. This role will be responsible for "Low and Medium" power DC fast chargers. This role is critical for the success of charging system products which would support current and future Caterpillar customers with their electric machinery charging needs.
What you will do:
Responsible and accountable for the continued development, communication, and implementation of a site, regional, or worldwide sourcing strategy.
Responsible for managing policies, agreements, source catalogs, and special purchasing programs, and supporting specific Product line(s) NPI programs.
Accountable for the liaison with the corresponding Category/Platform based Buyers.
Degree Requirement:
The position requires an undergraduate degree from a college or university - or equivalent experience.
A minimum of six years of progressively responsible job-related experience.
Professional certification in Purchasing and/or Inventory Management preferred.
This individual normally possesses category team or product team experience.
Experience negotiating and enforcing contracts.

Level Extensive Experience: • Advises others on the organization's supplier relationship management practices. • Builds consensus, resolves conflicts, and applies techniques to achieve influence and impact results with different suppliers in the organization's supplier network. • Coaches juniors on selecting, evaluating, and managing suppliers. • Conducts periodic reviews of work effort, progress, issues, and successes in supplier relationship establishment and management. • Evaluates the impact of SRM on the organization's different financials. • Refines organizational processes for establishing and maintaining supplier partnerships.
Strategic Sourcing: Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously. Level Extensive Experience: • Participates in monitoring the execution for all stages of the strategic sourcing process. • Trains others on strategic sourcing in multiple and diverse environments. • Designs and develops standard supplier agreements and procurement policies with standardized terms and conditions. • Works with complex strategic sourcing components including but not limited to negotiations, contracting, and continuous process improvement and implementation. • Consults on strategic sourcing methods in relation to business relationships, inter-dependencies and integration. • Develops and explains strategic sourcing best practices and rationale for the organization and industry.

Summary Pay Range: $123,480.00 - $185,280.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
