Key Responsibilities :

Juniata College is seeking to hire a Digital Media Producer to develop, produce, and project manage high-profile digital media projects in support of the College's mission and strategic plan. A strong storyteller, the Digital Media Producer works collaboratively with the College community to create quality, visually compelling content that builds awareness, drives demand, and informs the public about Juniata College. This position requires an experienced video professional who can perform all aspects of production and is enthusiastic about strategizing and engaging on campus to develop content.



Responsibilities:





  • Concept, produce, shoot, and edit high quality, digital video content that tells the College story. Create production scripts, storyboards, and treatment proposals, assess requirements, and develop plans for projects such as live multi-camera productions, social media videos, and scripted videos for use on YouTube, the College website, social networks, and other creative outlets

  • Build and implement digital media strategies that advance institutional brand communications and assist the College in achieving its strategic goals.

  • Manage the College's YouTube channel, creating and organizing content to increase engagement, and then identify and report on audience engagement metrics to inform future work.

  • Operate campus Digital Media Studio and supervise student assistants responsible for serving as production crew in studio or in field.

  • Manage, lead, and train student assistants who operate video, audio, and lighting equipment; perform editing and video shoots that further the College brand and the work of the marketing and communications office; and contribute video content for social media.

  • Select, operate, and maintain a variety of video, audio, computer-based production equipment, and lighting equipment for use in studio and field productions.

  • Direct guests, participants, production crew, and student assistants before and during recording, whether in the studio or on location.

  • Coordinate and modify lighting, audio engineering, and graphics.

  • Conduct post-production editing using the latest versions of non-linear editing, animation, and graphic design software to follow Juniata College brand standards.

  • Coordinate distribution and promotion with the marketing and communications office or campus partners.

  • Oversee and manage project progress, track milestones, and provide ongoing status reports.

  • Align work with institutional identity standards, and brand and editorial guidelines, maintaining consistency in voice, tone, visual brand and design language, and messaging across all platforms. Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to update and refine content as brand and editorial guidelines evolve.

  • Develop expertise in digital new media technologies as the industry evolves.

  • Organize, inventory, troubleshoot issues and track video equipment.

  • Conduct other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and any combination of education, training, and experience providing an understanding of the field and the ability to perform the job duties.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in the video production industry, with experience in complex live and recorded video production, video and audio editing, broadcast graphic development and execution, and project management.

  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite's Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro and other A/V editing software.

  • Demonstrated experience developing videos for social media such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of production equipment, including cameras, switchers, routers, character generators, and software.

  • Experience with videography, lighting, broadcast graphic design and animation, and digital media workflows and formats.

  • Ability to develop and maintain College partnerships and build credibility and trust.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) to clearly communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently as well as with multiple teams and partners.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure/tight deadlines.

  • Knowledge of copyright, image permissions and fair use protocols for music and video resources supporting production.

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills and the ability to lead, mentor, guide, and motivate students.

  • Ability to train students with varying experience in all aspects of recorded video production, live production, and multimedia production equipment, systems, and related software.

Supervision Required/Given:

Reports to the Vice President for Strategic Marketing and Communications.
Supervises Student Assistants who serve as production assistants, camera operators, video editors.



Physical Demands:

Ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium to heavy objects weighing up to 50lbs with assistance, as well as squat, walk, climb (stairs and ladders), bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, stand, grasp, reach, pull and repetitive motions.


Special Instructions to Applicants:


Working ScheduleThis position is on site to engage regularly with the College community and capture content on campus.The work schedule is typically Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with occasional nights and weekends for productions and storytelling connected to College events and programs.
