How will you make an impact?
We seek a Facilities supervisor to join our Lenexa team and manage the maintenance technicians that support utilities and facilities across five buildings comprising the overall Lenexa Campus through PM, work order execution, and daily support of emergency maintenance needs. The maintenance staff will consist of approximately six technicians. This role will also handle annual outside service contracts, including utility equipment maintenance, waste management, landscaping, snow removal, life safety system testing, and bulk production gas distribution.
To be successful as a facilities supervisor, you should have experience and understanding of mechanical and utility processes and equipment, specifically boilers, chillers, HVAC, compressed air, and RO water systems.
What will you do?
Support maintenance activities for site utilities and facility services and supervise a staff of 6 individuals and outside contractor resources.
Provide daily support for emergency maintenance needs and ensure timely PM completion and work order execution.
Support production in reducing/eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap, applying suitable analytical methodologies.
Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives through the PPI program.
Complete Engineering Design Reviews (EDR) for existing design changes, costing, validation requirements, and final implementation.
Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to the product, processes, and systems.
Complete capital and expense projects as assigned.
Any additional responsibility deemed vital by management
Education
Minimum of an associate degree.
Prefer a bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years related experience in facility, utility, and manufacturing or assembly processes.
Proven understanding of mechanical and utility processes and equipment. Specifically with boilers, chillers, HVAC, compressed air, and RO water systems.
Experience designing, operating, solving, or maintaining utility machinery for mechanics and electronics.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Maintenance/Engineering supervision
Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma theory and practices is desirable.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project) with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.
Good mechanical/technical skills
Possess excellent leadership
Strong written and oral communication skills
CAD experience (AutoCAD) is desirable
