Automation Technician Position Summary:
The Automation Technician will support the Stamping business unitand be responsible for identifying strategic automation opportunities that will have a significant impact on safety, cost, and quality. This position will also be responsible for driving all projects through to completion.
Responsibilities
Automation Technician Responsibilities:
Utilize electrical and controls automation skills to troubleshoot and enhance existing automation systems
Support legacy automation systems
Train the workforce on new technology and automation systems
Create and document new processes
Monitor performance and utilization of automation process implementations
Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
Maintain an organized work area (5S)
Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
Complete all other work duties as assigned
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
Qualifications
Automation Technician Position Requirements:
Associates Degree in robotics automation or a related field, or relevant experience
3 years working with automation systems integration
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks/projects
Strong problem-solving skills
Must be a self-starter, team player, and have a positive attitude
Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
Organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Automation Technician Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with Human Machine Interface (HMI), control systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, and control components
Familiar with vision systems (Keyence, Cognex)
Familiar with various motion controllers/actuators (ITI, SMC, Robotiq)
Familiar with Robotics (Fanuc, Yushin, Epson, UR, Collaborative Robots)
Continuing Education; including participation in local chapters, associations, and/or organizations
Physical & Environmental Demands:
Cretex Companies use cutting oils, solvents, and other chemicals in the manufacturing process. Testing is conducted on a periodic basis to ensure that all chemicals are kept well below the OSHA permissible exposure levels.
