We are seeking an experienced APP to work within our supportive team-based model, collaborating with clinic and community partners to deliver high-quality, evidence-based primary care to a diverse Bowdoin College student body. This position helps create a "medical home away from home" for students while they are on campus to meet their preventative, chronic and urgent care needs. This position offers a work-life balance not often achieved in health care, with competitive compensation package including CME expenses, malpractice insurance, and robust benefits.
This is a 32-36 hour/week position during the academic year (38 weeks annually).
Shared on-call weeks/weekends will be required. Clinic hours are Monday-Friday, 8;30am - 5:00pm.
Daily schedule includes an average of 12 patients a day with 6 total patient contact-hours in an 8-hour day.
Education/Skills Required:
Master's degree in a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program.
Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Licensure in Maine (or ability to become licensed).
Commitment to an integrated approach with behavioral health and physical health.
Demonstrate an ability to work well with a diverse student body in culturally competent ways combined with a commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
Required:
1-3 years, recent, primary care experience.
Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Ability to perform medical examinations using standard medical procedures; ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
Ability to clearly communicate medical information to professional partners, students and/or families and other authorized campus personnel.
Knowledge of patient care charts, patient histories and maintaining records.
Ability to assist the Director in training new employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
Preferred:
4-7 years experience.
Recent experience in Women's Health and/or Sports Medicine.
Training in LARC (Long-Acting Reversable Contraception)
