Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community,and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. The Office of Human Resources and Payroll isin need of a Recruitment Assistant who is highly organized and detail-orientedwith excellent interpersonal skills. The responsibilities are administrative, technical,and confidential in nature. The incumbent will be responsible for recruitment,preparation and distribution of materials to employees, applicants, and outsideagencies, maintaining personnel records, and assisting with special projects asassigned.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Answer telephone calls, assist visitors, and make referrals to appropriate staff;
Maintain filing and records systems of highly confidential documents, including personnel files;
Assist with the employee recruitment process, including but not limited to, editing job descriptions for consistency and compliance with collective bargaining agreements, posting and advertising positions, correspondence with search committee members, managing applications through the online recruiting system;
Manage the student employment process; completing complex duties associated with work-study and department hiring and onboarding;
Assist recruitment and onboarding tasks for adjunct and part-time new hires;
Coordinate the appointment of search committee members and chairs, and provide training and technical assistance and support regarding the recruitment and hiring process to search committee members, chairs, and hiring managers;
Coordinate aspects of the on-boarding processes, including but not limited to ensuring timely and accurate I-9 verifications and CORI checks for new employees, reviewing new hire documentation, and initiating creation/setup of employee accounts in conjunction with IT Helpdesk and hiring managers;
Trouble-shoot applicant tracking system’s technical issues, and questions from employees and applicants;
Assist with logistics for trainings and events such as New Hire Orientation, Employee Recognition, and Administrative Professionals Day;
Actively participate as an effective member of the department team by completing assigned duties and accepting additional assignment or reassignments, including assistance to Payroll during peak periods;
Maintain confidentiality of employee, student, and organizational information;
Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Human Resources Management or related field;
1-2 years of Human Resources, administrative or clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Excellent organizational skills;
Strong attention to detail;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Strong computation skills and the ability to problem solve;
Proficient in Microsoft applications: Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;
Experience working in higher education, municipal or state agencies highly desirable;
Experience with HRIS systems; and
