The Summer Analyst Program

Piper Sandler is currently seeking undergraduate students for our 2025 Investment Banking Summer Analyst Internship Program. Summer Analysts generally work 10 weeks within an industry or product group in Investment Banking and have the opportunity to learn financial modeling and basic analysis of companies and industries, as well as gain an understanding of the dynamics of the capital markets.

The Internship Program includes one week of formal training held near Piper Sandler's Minneapolis, MN headquarters. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend networking events during the program. Our Investment Banking internships are a direct pipeline to our full time Analyst positions for the following year.

Our Secondary Capital Advisory team is currently seeking a 2025 Summer Analyst in our New York, NY office.

The Secondary Capital Advisory group is an integral team within Aviditi Advisors. In August, it was announced that Piper Sandler completed its acquisition of Aviditi Advisors( press release )representing the next chapter of the firm's continued growth as Piper Sandler's Private Capital Advisory group. The Private Capital Advisory group provides comprehensive, tailored solutions throughout an alternative investment manager's lifecycle. A candidate would have the ability to join an entrepreneurial and growing team looking to build out a highly differentiated, private equity focused advisory platform. Private Capital Advisory operates across three core business lines: primary fundraising, secondary advisory and portfolio company financing solutions. Since inception in 2020, the Private Capital Advisory group has advised on over $30 billion in transaction volume. The Secondary Capital Advisory group offers best-in-class solutions to private equity sponsors and their limited partners. Specifically, the team partners with private equity sponsors to advise on and raise third-party capital for GP-led secondary transactions, such as continuation vehicles. Additionally, the team works closely with institutional investors seeking liquidity from their private assets, including LP portfolio sales. The team leverages decades of expertise in secondaries to originate, structure, and execute these transactions. The Secondary Capital Advisory group is currently seeking an Analyst to support its ongoing growth.

Key deal execution tasks include:


  • Preparing materials, including confidential information memorandums, new business pitches, client presentations, and supporting due diligence documents
  • Provides support in building financial projection models for underlying companies and fund level returns
  • Participating in investor outreach, including sitting in on introductory calls, price discovery, and active processes
  • Interfacing directly with private equity clients, management teams, and investors on prospective and mandated transactions
  • Assisting junior team in tracking responsibilities including live deals, opportunities pipeline, internal controls and market intelligence
  • Communicating regularly with Private Capital Advisory professionals and across Piper Sandler's M&A and Financial Sponsor Coverage teams

Qualifications include:

  • The Internship Program is open to students who anticipate graduating from a top-tier undergraduate institution in December 2025 or May/June 2026
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Seeking a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics or another business-related field
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, including Excel modeling and valuation
  • Very strong technology background with exceptional Excel, Power Point skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage tight deadlines across multiple projects, and have the aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information
  • Strong interpersonal skills, highly detail oriented, organized, pro-active, intellectual curiosity, and an ability to thrive in a high energy, dynamic environment
  • Ability to comfortably interact with clients in the utmost professional and mature manner
  • Outstanding ethics, integrity, and judgement
  • Prior to the start of the internship, it is beneficial for interns to have taken finance and accounting courses or self-study. Training will be provided prior to the start of the internship.

The anticipated starting salary for New York City-based individuals expressing interest in this position is based off an annualized salary of $110,000 per year.
