Forklift Treating Helper (Overnight) at Stella-Jones Corporation. in Goshen, Virginia

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced machine operator to join our Treating department in Goshen, VA. This is a full-time position with a $22.00/hourly wage with the opportunity for growth for the ideal candidate. No treating experience is required. Stella-Jones will provide on the job training for the treating application process. The position requires covered and uncovered outside work with extreme temperature changes. 80% time on the pad and 20% for treating.

POSITION OVERVIEW: Treating Engineer Helper primary function is to assist in the handling, manufacture, and processing of lumber and round stock. Operating heavy machinery and equipment as directed.

Training Schedule: Monday - Friday (7am-330pm) until ideal candidate is proficient and fully trained. Once candidate has been fully trained then the candidate will shift change to 3rd shift.

Regular Schedule: Overnight shifts. Thurs/Friday (11pm to 7am) Saturday/Sunday (7pm to 7am)

Principal Responsibilities:

Machine Operator 3

• Change tram charges : Pulling out the treated charge and pushing in a charge to be treated
• Properly Tagging bundles /and putting them in the correct location according to size.
• Staging material : Bringing Material up from the field and putting it on the pad for up coming charges to be changed

Treating Helper

• Processing treating charges, computer data entry, and start treating cycle
• Maintain housekeeping in work area and closes/opens valves as needed
• Perform all duties of Machine Operator 3 and Laborer positions as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or GED; or
• Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• License/Certification: NA

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Required plant safety orientation.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
