Veritiv's Internship Program will provide real world experience, team projects, social events, volunteer work and professional development trainings. The internships are full-time, hybrid and run June 2 to August 8, 2025.
Job Purpose:
Our Accounting Intern will be responsible for general ledger journal entries, month-end close procedures and analyzing balances in accounts for appropriateness. This role will perform account reconciliations and have detailed knowledge of all general ledger accounts and their contents. The role will be required to meet all scheduled monthly financial reporting and tax deadlines and provide accurate and timely analysis and research as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with multiple internal customers on projects and presentations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline process improvements.
• Take ownership of a project and then assist other team members to support company initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
• Maintain assigned general ledger or subsidiary ledger accounts by reviewing documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations, preparing supporting schedules, recording appropriate journal entries consistent with U.S. GAAP, and reconciling on a monthly basis.
• Assist in the month-end close.
• Review financial results for completeness by preparing various reports, schedules, and reconciliations.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities and participate in other initiatives as assigned.
• Contact other departments and/or outside agencies to resolve problems via phone and e-mail.
• Perform other related duties, including administrative support for the Norcross Financial Centers accounting overall processes.
• Support the preparation of financial reports.
• Prepare and/or compile financial data for required financial statement disclosures.
• Pursing an Accounting or other related field degree is preferred.
• Basic understanding of general accounting principles.

• Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
• Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong planning and organization skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.
• The ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree In Progress
