Your Role:
This role will oversee warehouse and distribution activities and personnel at the St. Louis Cherokee GMP location. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you will oversee the warehouse and distribution team to ensure that all raw material and finished goods inventories are stored, handled, shipped, delivered, and received according to established operating procedures and are in compliance with DOT, OSHA, ISO, and IATA regulations.
The qualified individual will be well organized and have the ability to manage their time as well as the time of the entire department. This position requires an individual to be detail-oriented and can work independently and with teams that are not always on-site. This position will also be responsible for achieving an annual financial budget, to provide guidance and feedback to staff and other job-related duties as assigned by the Manager. Specific responsibilities include:
Lead and evaluate the performance of GMP warehouse and distribution team
Manage distribution and warehouse operations by determining and communicating standards of the areas of responsibility, monitoring daily workload and adjusting resource allocations when necessary
Ensure all personnel are completely trained and certified to meet regulatory requirements and maintain superior customer service
Collaborate with Client Project Management teams and respective contract manufacturing customers
Participate and lead tours and audits as Department SME
Lead investigations and audit responses using TrackWise
Initiate Change Controls and/or CAPAs
Participate as key stakeholder in the design and build of expansion assets supporting the warehouse
Utilize SAP NEXT
Initiate, promote and actively participate in process improvement initiatives
Research and recommend equipment including capital improvement projects; provide financial justification to support these projects
Enforce company safety, work and housekeeping standards.
Ensure all bulk chemicals conform to legal requirements for storage, and shipping of hazardous materials (DOT, 49 CFR, IATA and IMO) as well as meet customer guidelines
Recognize and initiate near miss and observation reports; complete accident/incident investigation reports within required time frames
Audit for compliance to procedures, rules and regulations; provide feedback for both safe and unsafe actions
Develop and maintain training documents and SOPs in assigned areas
Communicate with internal customers on special handling and storage requirements and responds to corrective action requests immediately
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or other Business discipline
5+ years of supply chain experience
OR
High School Diploma or GED
10+ years of supply chain experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Supervisory experience with the ability to lead teams effectively in a dynamic environment
Experience in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or pharmaceutical industry
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to engage and influence Senior Leaders and other stakeholders
Excellent time management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines and maintaining efficiency
Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to listen and interact effectively with diverse teams
Familiarity with Lean Management principles and process improvement techniques
Ability to train and mentor staff on new and existing processes and procedures
Understanding of Supply Chain operations and logistics, procurement, warehousing, and distribution
Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling, GMP storage, and shipping regulations
Advanced proficiency in PC operations, with strong skills in word processing and spreadsheet software
In-depth experience with SAP or other ERP systems, including advanced troubleshooting and system optimization
Expertise in the storage and shipping of cold chain products in the pharmaceutical contract manufacturing industry, including documentation and compliance
Hands-on experience in pharmaceutical logistics, distribution, procurement, warehousing, and overall supply chain management
Experience managing 3PL contract relationships and ensuring smooth coordination
Experienced team leader with a track record of exercising sound judgment, troubleshooting supply chain issues, and escalating when necessary
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to leverage tools for reporting and data analysis
