BASIC FUNCTION
The Indirect Lending Specialist is responsible for performing the fulfillment tasks of loans acquired through the Indirect dealership channel. This multistep process is crucial to ensuring accuracy of indirect loan documents, compliance with program requirements and timeliness of loan fulfillment with final payment to the dealerships.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
1) The specialist performs a close inspection of all documents received in the indirect loan document package for quality assurance as well as ensuring 100% compliance is maintained. Complete daily auditing of funded loans to ensure compliance and procedural requirements are met. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated.
2) The specialist supports the Credit Union’s Indirect Lending Program by establishing positive working relationships with the indirect dealership network and always keeping in the forefront the best interests of the credit union and the memberowner.
3) The specialist opens share accounts for applicants who become member owners as a result of an accepted loan application.
4) The specialist oversees the daily ACH process to ensure reserves and loan proceeds are funded to the correct dealership account on the day the loan is booked.
5) The specialist consistently works and follows up on indirect dealership errors to get a timely correction.
6) The specialist maintains up to date records of each loan disbursement transaction.
7) The specialist works with management to help assist in other areas of the credit union when needed.
CRITICAL RESULTS
1) Meets the credit union’s goal of achieving the expectations of members who use the Consumer Lending Program through the Indirect channels.
2) Credit Union goals of low errors on indirect loan documentation are consistently achieved.
3) Meets the goals of fast and efficient funding as a term of the dealership contract on a regular basis.
4) Reports are accurate and prepared on a timely basis.
5) Credit Union loan documentation prepared through the indirect channel meets all compliance and regulatory requirements.
6) Being able to take independent action in a variety of situations involved in the fulfillment of indirect loans.
7) All activities are efficiently conducted, generally error free, and are completed following the appropriate policies, procedures, operational controls, and compliance controls.
8) Losses, errors, and risks are controlled and mitigated by adhering to all applicable policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
A. Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills:
1. Applicants must have lending experience to include product sales, application processing, loan interviewing and loan disbursements.
2. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
3. A minimum of two years credit union experience, with at least one year experience involving loan interviewing, processing and funding is preferred.
