As a Biotherapies Software Specialist, you'll be the go-to expert for assigned software applications, ensuring they run smoothly and support our lifesaving mission. With minimal supervision, you'll lead the charge in evaluating, developing, and implementing software updates, managing change control processes, and driving the success of implementation activities. Your work will directly support the systems that help us make a life-changing difference every day.

As a Biotherapies Software Specialist, you'll get to:


  • Software Integration & Support: Manage software updates, configurations, and changes to meet evolving requirements.

  • Development & Validation: Lead software implementation, validation, and training efforts; ensure rigorous testing and defect resolution.

  • Technical Expertise: Provide on-site technical support, analyze system utilization, and act as a liaison between Vitalant, vendors, and councils.

  • Troubleshooting & Evaluation: Research, recommend, and troubleshoot software applications, ensuring alignment with regulatory and quality standards.

  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with cGMP, regulatory, and Vitalant standards; assist with lifecycle documentation and testing processes.

  • Vendor Collaboration: Stay updated on vendor software developments, evaluate changes, and maintain professional networks.

This role combines technical expertise with strategic collaboration to support Vitalant's innovative biotherapies initiatives.

Requirements

Knowledge/ Education


  • Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • Current understanding of federal and governing body standards activities preferred.

Experience

  • Five years related experience required.

  • Project management experience preferred.

  • Experience in healthcare, blood banking, biotherapies or pharmaceutical industry preferred.

Skills/ Abilities

  • Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Efficient consulting skills with the ability to effectively assist personnel in executing job tasks.

  • Ability to plan and organize a diversified and heavy workload.

  • Ability to make sound decisions and work well under pressure.
