Position Summary

A motivated team-oriented person who is responsible for supporting and ensuring the efficiency that all products are properly identified, counted, and maintained in inventory. Must be well organized and have a high level of attention to detail. Must be self-starter that is able to work without direct supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
• Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Buckhorn policies and OSHA Standards.
• Monitor and perform accurate daily cycle counts.
• Conduct searches to locate inaccurate or missing inventories.
• Report Resin Inventories daily for supporting roles as necessary.
• Make inventory adjustments as needed.
• Escalate large variances between physical inventories and system software inventories to Materials Lead or warehouse leadership for further investigation.
• Ensure materials are in proper locations.
• Research inventory transactions in the computer system to determine cause of variances in inventory between counts and what the system indicates is on hand.
• Help investigate and develop processes to bridge operational gaps that can potentially cause inaccuracy in inventory.
• Work with Management and Warehouse Supervisor to report inaccuracies due to processes not being followed with specific data to review and adjust.
• Monitor Silos and Railcars to prepare, communicate, and execute the physical offloading and transfer of material in absence of the Material Lead.
• Fill out agreed upon daily management reports.
• Use computers (including hand-held units) to process paperwork in system software and Excel.
• Work with plant controller and outside auditors on random audits.
• Assist with Physical Inventory procedures, planning, and execution.
• Be able to use equipment to assist in the movement of product to achieve accurate counts (overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) Training will be provided as needed.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); required
• Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or higher is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office); required
• Previous warehouse experience; required
• Experience with scanner; required
• Experience with AS400: preferred
• Forklift certification is required. If selected, training will be provided to obtain certification as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively to groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to do two mathematical operations to arrive at the solution.

REASONING ABILITY:
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to interpret system transactions to look for patterns and establish root cause for inaccurate inventory.
