The EHS/Training Coordinator is an appropriate level management individual that has the necessary skills & authority to carry out the responsibilities of the job listed below. Management will support the EHS/Training Coordinator to ensure that the One Myers EHS Vision to include 100% regulatory compliance is implemented and maintained at the individual's assigned plant(s). The EHS/Training Coordinators will report directly to the Site Leader/ Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Platform EHS Leader. The position also assures that appropriate investigations, documentation, and software systems are updated in a timely manner in support of the environmental control and personnel safety systems. This includes achieving production, delivery, cost, safety, quality and organizational effectiveness goals for the plant site and corporation.
Responsibilities:
Will serve as a Project Lead or Subject Matter Expert for an EHS or Training project or system.
Will either conduct or assist with New Employee Safety Orientation. Will work closely with other employees who will be involved in conducting employee safety training.
Will establish an Annual Safety Training Plan and maintain attendance records of such training. Paper as well as electronic copies of training records will be maintained & made available for routine auditing.
Will oversee the training plan is being executed and partner with all departments to ensure their specific training is performed according to the annual plan.
Will ensure training records are kept in accordance with standard procedures and recordkeeping guidelines.
Will Build plans and lead resolution to safety issues.
Will counsel & inform employees & supervisors on safe work behavior.
Will work in conjunction with Site Quality Engineer, Material Handling Group resources, and Corporate resources to respond to Jamco Products customer product stewardship requests (REACH, Conflict Minerals, PFAS, California Prop 65, others).
Will communicate the effectiveness of the safety program to plant management as well as the Platform EHS Manager.
Will update the safety program as necessary with approval from the Platform EHS Manager.
Will conduct with plant supervisor's accident investigations on all injuries requiring outside medical attention. NOTE: Supervisors and/or training safety committee members may assist.
Will work with all levels of management on safety/EHS related issues.
Will stay up to date on all OSHA regulations. Thus, on going continuing EHS education will be part of the performance review process.
Will lead by example and follow all company safety policies. Will be a servant leader to engage all employees at assigned plant(s). Will drive open, honest communication.
Will engage, lead, and/or support continuous improvement projects related to safety enhancements for the site.
Perform other duties as assigned.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
More than seven years' experience in manufacturing, with at least five years of safety experience, three years of environmental experience and three years of training experience required.
Associate degree in related field or enrolled to obtain.
Plant safety experience in a regulated industry.
Familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulations.
Familiarity with OH&S and EC management systems.
Completed OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour training courses. Minimum 5 years' experience as member of Plant Leadership management team.
Demonstrated ability to achieve goals through direct or indirect management of others.
Demonstrated ability to interact with vendors, customers and third parties in a professional manner.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively across functional groups and management levels.
