SUMMARY: Plans, directs, and coordinates the work activities of finished goods transport and storage into the warehouse as well as shipping and receiving of product to assure world class level performance in all areas of the warehouse, including finished good assembly operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs all traffic responsibilities.
Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations utilizing ERP system (Syteline/CSI) while ensuring SOX and ISO procedures are followed.
Supervises the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials.
Oversees the assembly and packaging of consumer and marine customer finished good accessories as well as pick, pack & ship operations.
Plans work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation, operations or production goals.
Reviews orders, production schedules, and shipping or receiving notices to determine work sequences and material shipping dates, types, volumes, or destinations to meet and exceed company KPI's (On Time and In Full).
Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Confers with internal and external customers, supervisors, or other personnel to exchange information or to resolve problems.
Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
Recommends and implements measures to improve worker motivation, equipment performance, work methods, or customer services.
Learns and understands LEAN tools and their use and is a champion in leading the usage of these tools throughout the warehouse, shipping, and receiving functions.
Interviews, selects, and trains warehouse personnel.
Keeps records of employees' attendance and approves hours worked.
Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Conducts employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures.
Maintains a clean and organized working environment using 5S model.
Enforces safety rules and regulations.
Works closely with other departments to assure efficiency, teamwork, and fluid communications.
Coordinates with inventory control to remove obsolete or damaged inventory.
Responsible for cycle counting all finished goods and all marine category items (raw, packaging and finished); as directed by inventory control.
Advises and collaborates with other functional areas of the organization on distribution issues, questions and/or concerns in order to maintain effective production and shipping operations.
Actively participates in meetings, reporting inventory, shipping, and any equipment issues.
Responsible for the security of the warehouse including inventory, shipping docks, etc.
Implements and executes frequent department safety inspections and assures the accurate completion of all accident reports.
Responsible for warehouse labor efficiency.
Actively participates and supports company safety program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's Degree, or four to six years' experience in logistics and warehouse management, or an equivalent combination required
Forklift certification from Scepter will be required
Experience in ISO 9001 preferred
Education/Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process Control, & LEAN concepts, principles and other analytical tools required
Understanding of safety, OSHA and environmental regulations preferred
Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills required
Computer literacy, Microsoft Office products preferred
Must be able to transfer knowledge of policies and procedures
