The Business Analyst is a role within IT Business Systems that serves as a lead project and support function for evaluating process and system needs across business units and implementing enhancements and bug fixes. This includes recommending improvements, troubleshooting issues, and escalating issues to senior analysts, administrators, and/or application support or engineering teams, as necessary. The Business Analyst will also help implement system requirements by defining and analyzing complex problems and designing and testing standards and solutions. The person in this role will work on core IT projects that support Audubon’s operations across the organization, including its network of field offices, and will report to the Senior Manager, Business Analysis.
This role will be hybrid out of our New York, NY office. We will also consider candidates who are remote within the United States.
Compensation:
Salary range based on geo-differentials:
$90,000-$105,000/year = National
$100,000-$115,000/year = Alaska, CA (not San Francisco), Connecticut, D.C., Chicago, Oyster Bay, NY
$115,000-$130,000/year = NYC (not Oyster Bay), San Francisco, Seattle
Collaborate with business owners, project managers, engineers, and key stakeholders on implementing solutions and defining feasibility, constraints, and risks.
Facilitate iterative user review sessions, identifying system design improvements, managing issues and user expectations, and driving completion of key actions.
Gather, develop, document, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements.
Participate in Agile teams to facilitate the estimation, prioritization, and execution of tasks.
Interact with clients on requirements gathering and system design.
Interact with other business analysts and solution developers to communicate and validate requirements.
Perform functional and integrated testing.
Prepare and maintain project and technical documentation and artifacts including analysis, reports, and user documentation.
Work with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements.
Evaluate new and existing IT products and services.
Assist in maintaining our Salesforce instance, supporting internal customer needs including data management and integrations with other systems and tools.
Prepare meeting notes and communications to be distributed to a variety of audiences, both technical and non-technical.
Author user stories, test scripts, and other Agile deliverables.
Support the evaluation and communication of incoming support requests between teams as needed.
Collaborate with Audubon staff to ensure that equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging principles are incorporated and followed in all aspects of our work.

Bachelors preferred and minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably within Technology. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will also be considered.
Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
Experience working with CRM and ERP systems, such as Salesforce, Workday, and Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT.
Experience with MS Office, specifically MS Excel, and digital project tools such as Airtable, Jira, Confluence, and Asana.
Experience with system integrations and 3rd party APIs.
Experience working with Agile project management methodologies.
Experience creating/executing software test cases.
Knowledge of programming concepts preferred.
Experience with data analysis and SQL preferred.
Testing automation and script development experience a plus.
Functional analysis and strong writing skills.
Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment under tight timelines.
Ability to multi-task and support multiple projects at once.
Ability to travel to client sites on occasion and as needed.
