The EH&S/ Facilities Lead collaborates closely with site leadership to support environmental, health, safety and sustainability programs. This position supports the Site EH&S strategy through a program that seeks to proactively lead EH&S & Sustainability in order to align with all applicable regulations and Thermo Fisher Scientific standards, achieve a safe work environment, and minimize impact to the environment. Also responsible for leading any facility projects related to the site and further ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and Thermo Fisher Scientific standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as site lead for all EH&S related requirements for two sites
Maintenance of Washington mandated Safety Programs (Hazard Communication, Emergency Action Plan, etc.) to include employee training
Assist in supporting Oregon sites sfety programs
New hire safety orientation training
Accident reporting management
Chemical waste management
Network with company EH&S resources to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and company regulatory requirements
Lead all Worker Compensation Claims as applicable
Chair Safety Committee and conduct regular cadence of meetings
Conduct regular site audits for Safety
Conduct semi-annual evacuation drills
Track and report on site injuries and near misses on a quarterly basis and enact measures to reduce injuries
Contribute to and enhance the safety culture on site
Take ownership of Facilities related projects and requirements
Network with company Facilities resources to ensure site compliance on the Federal, State and company level for all relevant requirements
Act as liaison between site and property manager for all maintenance issues
Act as POC for all facility related regulatory visits (Fire inspection, Electrical inspection etc...)
Identify areas to reduce costs related to building expenses
Other related duties as the need arises
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related scientific subject area such as Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering. Equivalent experience will also be considered in lieu of degree.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in EHS roles

Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports. May coach and train others on the more complicated functions/tasks. May make recommendations to management on process improvements.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Washington is $83,300.00-$125,000.00.
