ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking an experienced Tableau Developer with a focus on healthcare analytics. This role involves collaborating closely with clients to understand their requirements, developing powerful visualizations using Tableau, and building insightful data models and aggregations to help drive better decision-making in the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Tableau, familiarity with SQL programing, a good understanding of healthcare data, and the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights.
Collaborate with various internal stakeholders to gather, understand, and document business requirements for reporting and analytics.
Develop standard report packages that will be delivered to a wide range of clients.
Analyze reporting needs and translate them into detailed functional and technical specifications for Tableau visualizations and reports.
Dashboard & Report Development:
Design, develop, and implement interactive Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations tailored to client needs.
Work in a dev - QA - production pipeline across multiple servers.
Utilize data visualization best practices.
Work with business stakeholders to refine the design and ensure dashboards and reports effectively communicate insights.
Ensure the finished product meets the demanding, high-quality standards of the company, and fits with the look and feel of existing dashboards.
Data Modeling & Aggregation:
Build and optimize data models in Tableau, ensuring data is properly aggregated for meaningful insights.
Develop advanced calculations, such as LOD (level of detail), hierarchies, filters in context, parameters, and drill-downs to create insightful, user-friendly dashboards.
Data Integration & Analysis:
Work with various data sources such as Snowflake, SQL, Excel, CSV, and healthcare-specific data (e.g., EMR, claims data, patient records) to integrate data into Tableau.
Familiarity with SQL concepts such as joins, unions, basic querying, and navigating an enterprise EDW.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy by working with backend systems and databases.
Optimization & Performance Tuning:
Ensure dashboards perform efficiently by optimizing data sources and queries.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in Tableau dashboards.
Collaboration & Support:
Collaborate with data engineers, analytic consultants, and other cross-functional teams to effectively implement Tableau solutions.
Ability to debug advanced dashboards, research/explain data discrepancies, and documenting your findings.
Provide training and support to end-users in understanding and interpreting Tableau dashboards and reports.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay up-to-date with the latest Tableau features and best practices in data visualization.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve the visualizations and reporting processes for the client.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field and 5 years of experience in Tableau development with a strong dashboard and report development portfolio or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
Experience with SQL (SSMS, PostgreSQL, or equivalent), specifically querying databases, data manipulation, and building effective Tableau data sources.
Experience working with Snowflake is a plus.
Experience working with healthcare-related data (e.g. patient data, healthcare claims, EMR systems, clinical data, etc.) is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with data integration tools and techniques.
Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., ICD-10, CPT codes, HL7) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving abilities to transform raw healthcare data into actionable insights.
Understanding of business intelligence concepts and best practices in dashboard design.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work directly with clients to understand and document requirements.
Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Pay Range: $115,000 - $130,000/yr
